Pain points
-
Air leakage past the rotor tips
Conveying air short-circuits through the tip gap, line velocity drops and material settles in the pipe. Closed-ended rotors with adjustable tips hold the gap at 0.05–0.10 mm as the body wears.
-
Blow-by back into the feed hopper
Air leaking through the valve fluidises material in the hopper and upsets the feed rate. A blow-through body vents the displaced air downstream of the rotor instead of back up the inlet.
-
Tip and body erosion
Fine abrasive dust at conveying velocity wears the tips and opens the gap within months. Hard-chrome or tungsten carbide tips hold that gap up to 300 °C product temperature.
Valves for this position
