Pain points

Shearing and smearing pellets
A tight tip clearance cuts pellets and smears molten polymer on the body. The shear-protector profile opens a relief angle behind the tip so pellets pass whole.
Fines loading the filter
Fines from regrind pass the tip gap and blind the filter or load the vacuum blower. Adjustable tips keep the gap at 0.08 mm as the body wears, so fines stay in the product stream.
Stall from cold lumps and purge slugs
Cold lumps and purge slugs jam the pocket and the drive trips. A torque limiter and a stalled-rotor trip on the speed monitor act before the pocket packs solid.
